Knowledge Base / Contractor FAQs / What is IR35?

IR35 is tax legislation that targets contract workers who use an intermediary such as a limited company to provide services to clients, when in reality they would be classed as an employee if the intermediary was not in place.  If an individual falls inside IR35 they are deemed by HMRC to be “disguised employees” and as such can experience a higher tax burden than standard contractors.
